Variety.com hinted that the search is already on for the Eclipse director, and prominent names that have popped up are those of Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) and James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma).
If this is true, then Chris Weitz won't be directing Eclipse after all, contrary to what was suggested by Alan Baltes here. But if they're looking for a director for Eclipse this early, Alan might be spot on about New Moon and Eclipse being filmed back-to-back.
Speaking of casting, Alan just announced the casting call for Native American teenagers for New Moon. René Haynes is casting the parts, as announced by Twilight casting director Lana Veenker on her blog. Lana emphasized that her office is not doing New Moon, as casting for this movie will be in Vancouver, LA and Italy, not in Oregon or Washington as was the case for Twilight.
